GOD’S GLORY DEPARTS FROM THE TEMPLE

Date : Aug 10, 2024
Passage : Ezekiel 10:1~22
Keyverse : 18

In this passage, the man clothed in linen is instructed to take coals of fire from the cherubim and scatter them over the city, as God had already pronounced judgment on Israel and Judah (9:9) for their iniquity. After the man did what God had commanded him, the cherubim left the temple (15)— and, so did God’s glory that had once filled the temple (18).

God desires our hearts and wants us to worship him as our one and true Lord and Creator (Exodus 34:14, Deuteronomy 4:24, Song of Songs 8:6). Israel and Judah had hardened their hearts and failed to listen when he sent many teachers and prophets. Therefore, they earned God’s judgment and estrangement from him. Is your life a temple wholly devoted to the Lord?
Application: Father, thank you for your words that lead me to understand your will and sovereignty. Help me to repent my hardened heart and live for your glory and worship you alone.
One Word: God’s glory will not remain on those who hardened their hearts
