Peter tells the believers that the two letters he sent them were to remind them of the words of God and of Jesus Christ.

In the last days, there will be scoffers. They will plant doubt and unbelief in the believer’s heart. They will ask, “Where is the coming he promised?” They do not know that the present heaven and earth are reserved for fire. God is patient with us; he wants everyone to come to repentance.

While we serve campus students and those who are lost, God is pleased, and God is still waiting for them to come back to him. But as God promised, the day of the Lord will come like a thief. It will be complete destruction.

Peter exhorts us to live holy and godly lives. When we live a holy and godly life in Jesus Christ, we have hope in the kingdom of heaven.
Application: Lord, Jesus, help us not fall for the lies of scoffers and false prophets. May we hold you dearly and learn from you, Jesus. May you make us more holy and godly as we live a life of faith before you each day.
