IF YOU REMAIN SILENT AT THIS TIME

Date : May 04, 2023
Passage : Esther 4:1~17
Keyverse : 16

When Mordecai learned about the edict, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and ashes, and went into the city, wailing loudly along with other Jews from all other provinces doing the same. The Jews took such actions to appeal to the Lord in times of severe threat (2 Kings 19:1).

Mordecai also persuaded Esther to go to the king and plead for her people (8). Esther was initially reluctant. She knew the law: Anyone who approached the king without being summoned would be put to death. Esther was not above the law; worse, the king had not called her for a month (11). Esther's fear was reasonable. However, Mordecai challenged her with confidence that the Jews would be delivered regardless of her choice. God is in control, and he will make it happen. But as one in the right, royal place at the right time, Esther had a calling to carry out this mission and was responsible for her response to God's call (14).

Esther made a choice and asked for prayer support from all her people. She recognized her life as a part of God's history, even at the point of death (16). What is the Lord calling you to do now? Will you be a part of the Lord's salvation plan by overcoming fear?

Application: Father, thank you for including me in your plan of deliverance. Help me to have the courage to answer your calling.
One Word: If I perish, I perish.
