Bezalel's team now worked on all the elements outside the tent of meeting: the bronze altar, on which all the sacrifices and offerings would be made daily; the basin for the priests to wash themselves before ministering in the tent; and the courtyard, which represented the boundary of the dwelling of God with his people. All was made as God had instructed Moses.
Moses commanded the Levites to keep a record of all the materials that were collected and used on the tabernacle. Over a ton of gold and 2.5 tons of bronze were freely offered to complete the artifacts. The silver was collected through the half-shekel offering. All of God's people contributed to this effort, and it was done in obedience to God's command. The structure was now complete, in anticipation of God's dwelling with his people.
Application: Father, thank you for making a way to dwell with us through Jesus. Help our leaders manage materials with integrity and let us willingly contribute to what you are doing.
One Word: Let us do as God commands
