1. Like the apple of your eye (1-5)
Psalm 119:9 says, "How can those who are young keep their way pure? By living according to your word." The wise also instructs his son to keep his commands, guard his teachings as the apple of his eye and write deep testimonies on the tablet PC of his heart. Then the word of God will keep him from the adulterous woman with her seductive words.
2. Like an ox going to the slaughter (6-27)
The wise well describes how a wayward woman seduces a young man. He lacks judgment. He leads himself near the temptations in the direction of her house at twilight. Then she comes out to seduce him with all kinds of sweet and persuasive words. Alas! He follows her all at once. It is like a deer stepping into a noose, an ox going to the slaughter and a bird darting into a snare. The wise warns again, 'do not let your heart turn to her ways.' Her house is a highway to the grave. Joseph in the Old Testament kept God's word like the apple of his eye. Immanuel God saved him from all the temptations.
