1. Concerning the wicked (1-4)
What is God's message concerning the sinfulness of the wicked? They do not fear God as God. They live to be great in their own eyes. They do not hate sin. Their words and deeds are wicked. The sinful man sets a course based on what is expedient for him, often at the expense of the godly. They live without God. David prayed for God's protection from such godless and wicked people (11).
2. 'How priceless is God's unfailing love!' (5-12)
In contrast to the wicked are those who see the immeasurable love of God. It is expressed in his faithfulness to those who come to him, and it is made known in his righteousness. The love of God never fails. He is the source of life and light to all who take refuge in him. He loves us by making his life and his light known to us. We pray for his love and righteousness to sustain us in a sinful world.
Application: LORD, thank you for making yourself known to me. Help me to continue to live in your unfailing love each day.
One Word: Live in God's light
