GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS PROMISES

Date : Nov 07, 2020
Passage : 2Chronicles 21:1~20
Keyverse : 7

1. The end of Jehoshaphat's reign (1-3)

King Jehoshaphat died and was given an honorable burial with his ancestors in the City of David. Jesus said that 'a good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart.' This can be seen in Jehoshaphat's life in the way he provided for his sons and established them in fortified cities. No doubt, he wanted to protect and strengthen the nation through their leadership.

2. The reign of King Jehoram (4-20)

King Jehoram failed to follow the good example of his godly father. Instead, he was influenced by his wife, a daughter of Ahab. It was a very dark era in the nation's history. Jehoram slaughtered his brothers and led the people of Judah into idolatry. Nevertheless, the LORD was not willing to destroy the house of David. He remembered his promise to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever. God is faithful, even when his people are not.

Application: Father, your mercy is beyond measure.
One Word: God remembers his promises
