1. Fear the LORD and serve him only (10-19)
People easily forget the grace of God when they prosper. So, God repeatedly taught Israel not to forget him who brought them out of slavery in Egypt and gave them houses, wells, vineyards, and olive groves in the Promised Land. They should fear the LORD and serve him only. They should not put the LORD to the test. If they follow other gods, the LORD God is a jealous God, and he would destroy them. If they keep the LORD's commands and do what is right and good, it would go well with them in the good land the LORD promised.
2. Tell your children (20-25)
Parents were responsible to teach their children to know the mighty God who brought Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders. The LORD gave them the Promised Land so that they might obey all his commands and fear him. Then they would always prosper and be kept alive. If they kept his commands, that would be their righteousness.
Application: Lord, thank you for your saving grace from our bondage of sin, death, and Satan. Now, our righteousness is to believe in Jesus and not to forget him who died for our sins.
One Word: The righteous shall live by faith.
