1. For your sake Lord (1-19)
Daniel approached God on behalf of his people, in humble submission. He prayed based on God's almighty power, his covenant of love and his righteousness. He confessed the shameful sins of the people of Israel. He knew the God of judgment and the God of mercy. He knew that God was faithful. He trusted that God's mercy would provide everything for their sin, and he would do it for his sake.
2. Word went out (20-27)
God sent an angel to instruct Daniel about things to come. God listened to his prayer and gave him a vision of when God would put an end to sin and atone for wickedness. War would continue to the end, along with many abominations, even the Anointed One being put to death. The Lord was working in all these things to fulfill his will and bring in everlasting righteousness. The Lord answered Daniel's prayer.
