1. Jesus takes away a mother's tears (11-13)
Jesus entered Nain, followed by a crowd of people who were full of joyful hope for the coming kingdom. They passed another procession, but it was one full of sorrow and lost hope, because a widowed mother had lost her only son. Jesus was moved with compassion and took action to heal the widow's sorrow, starting with the words "Don't cry."
2. Jesus raises the dead (14-17)
By the power of his words "Get up!" Jesus brought life back to the young man's body. Only the Creator God can give life to the dead. The people praised God and said, "God has come to help his people." They realized that Jesus' love takes away all the sting of death. With such faith, we can also come out of our sorrow and fear.
