ACT JUSTLY; LOVE MERCY; WALK HUMBLY

Date : Feb 19, 2020
Passage : Micah 6:1~16
Keyverse : 8

1. What does the LORD require of you? (1-8)

Calling even the mountains as witness, God brings charges against his people as Judge of the earth. He calls them to remember his grace: he delivered them from slavery, gave them leaders who cared for them, delivered them from those who hated them; all his deeds are righteous acts! What did he look for in response to this grace? Not countless sacrifices. He has shown them clearly what is good: act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with him.

2. God punishes your sins (9-16).

That is not what they did. Rather than show wisdom through respect and obedience, their culture was full of injustice, deceit, violence and arrogant pride. So God has begun to carry out punishment: they would receive no benefit from all their labor, it would go to their conquerors, since they chose to follow Omri's evil example instead of God's word.

Application: Father, you are a gracious God. Help me remember, then act justly, love mercy, walk humbly.
One Word: Remember God's righteous acts
