1. "Have faith in God!" (20-22)
The next morning when Peter saw the fig tree withered from the roots, he was astonished shouting, "Rabbi, the fig tree you cursed has withered!" Why? Peter did not expect it. He had no absolute faith in Jesus' word. Jesus wanted him to have "faith in God" and even "mountain-moving faith" like Jesus. Jesus believed in God absolutely. He believed the Scriptures about his death on the cross, and how God would throw the mountain-like sins of all into the sea. He believed God would raise him on the third day too.
2. "Ask and believe, and it will be done for him" (23-26)
Faith is measured by one's prayer. Whatever we ask for in prayer, we must believe that we have already received it. Then it will be ours. Faith is also revealed when we forgive others. Jesus warned of getting rid of the unforgiving heart if our prayers are to be heard.
