1. David brings the ark God's way (1-15)
David prepared a place for God's dwelling. This time he appointed the Levites to carry the ark, in accordance with the word of the LORD. God chose them for this task, and David respected their role in God's work, making an environment for them to serve. To respect God's word and God's calling on his people is to respect God and his holiness.
2. All Israel celebrates (16-29)
To welcome God into the city was not a somber or solemn event. Rather, David told Levitical leaders to appoint musicians to make a joyful sound. Each division prepared music on cymbals, harps, singing, as well as those who guarded and carried the ark. This made an environment in which all Israel, including their leaders and David himself, joyfully received the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
