1. Manasseh (1-18)
Hezekiah had gotten rid of idol worship in Judah during his reign. Manasseh did the opposite, rebuilding the places of idol worship, even erecting idols in the temple. His 55-year reign was a time of detestable sins and bloodshed. The Lord spoke through the prophets that he would judge the land and wipe out Jerusalem. The people did not listen to the Lord, and it was their king Manasseh who led them astray.
2. Amon (19-26)
Amon followed in the footsteps of his father, meeting an untimely death by assassination after only two years as king. Finally, the people had enough. They killed those who plotted against Amon, and they placed Amon's son Josiah on the throne. The lamp of David was not yet completely extinguished.
