1. I have heard your prayer (1-6)

Hezekiah became ill and received a prophecy from Isaiah to put his house in order, for he was going to die. Hezekiah wept and prayed. Immediately the Lord sent Isaiah back to Hezekiah. The Lord had heard his prayer and provided healing. He would deliver Hezekiah and the city of David.

2. The Lord's sign (7-11)

When Hezekiah asked for a sign, Isaiah replied with a question-whether the shadow would go forward or backward. Hezekiah did not ask for the simple solution, but the impossible one. The Lord indeed made the shadow go back. He is the giver of life, even life to the dead.
