1. The Most High God performed wonders for me (1-3)
Nebuchadnezzar's personal testimony as a Gentile king reveals God's heart to save all the Gentiles. At first the king despised the God of Israel, for he captured the Israelites and robbed his temple. But in a vision of the statue, God revealed his sovereignty over the kingdoms. God showed his power by saving his servants from the blazing furnace. Now after the fulfillment of his dream of a tree, the king could not but praise the Most High God. For God's kingdom is eternal and his dominion endures from generation to generation.
2. The Most High God is the Sovereign Lord (4-18)
Here is the king's dream. He saw an enormous tree that touched the sky and all the creatures were fed by it. But it was cut. The messenger announced that the Most High God did this so that all people may know that he is the sovereign Lord over all kingdoms and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people. When the king asked for an interpretation, no magicians could interpret it. But he asked Daniel, a man of God's spirit to interpret it.
