1. Daniel told about the King's dream (31-35)
Daniel glorified God by revealing the mystery shown to him. It was an enormous statue with a gold head, silver chest and arms, bronze belly and thighs, iron legs, feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay. Then a rock from heaven smashed it to pieces. They were gone with the wind without leaving a trace. But the rock became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.
2. Daniel's interpretation (36-49)
The head of gold is king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon; then the worldly kingdoms become poorer in quality, splendor and power. Disunity among peoples will be like a mixture of clay and iron. Finally, a Kingdom will be established by God smashing all other kingdoms. It will grow to last forever. This is accomplished by Jesus, a small baby in a manger. His kingdom grows day by day to eternity. The king fell prostrate and praised the God of heaven. He put Daniel in charge of his entire kingdom and his three friends as governors.
