A WATCHMAN FOR THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL

Date : Oct 03, 2018
Passage : Ezekiel 3:4~27
Keyverse : 11

1. Go, now to the people of Israel (4-15)

God sent Ezekiel to speak his word to the exiles. They would not listen, not because they didn't understand the language, but because they were not willing. Their hearts were hardened. Ezekiel was called to serve God by speaking words of judgment to those who would never listen. The Lord promised to be with him. Ezekiel struggled with anger, bitterness and distress himself, but the Lord's hand was upon him. He went to the exiles.

2. I will hold you accountable (16-27)

The Lord appointed Ezekiel to be a watchman for the people of Israel. This meant he must speak the word of the Lord to both the righteous and the wicked. He must pronounce the Lord as the judge of sin, or Ezekiel would be held accountable. It was a matter of life. The Lord revealed his glory and filled Ezekiel with the Spirit, so that he may speak God's words to the rebellious people.

Application: Lord, raise up watchmen who are fully accountable before you, and can speak the word of the Lord to the people of our times.
One Word: A watchman for the people
