1. God acts when his people could not (1-6)
God saw something that shouldn't be...the Ammonites were occupying Gad and spreading the worship of their idol, Molech. They were leading God's people astray. Though God's people were helpless to stop their influence, God was not. He would drive out the Ammonites along with their idols by his own means, the Babylonians.
2. God's justice will prevail (7-39)
God's judgment was not limited to Judah. He is the God of all the earth. The surrounding nations would have to answer to God for their arrogance and idol worship. There was nowhere to hide. Human wisdom and impenetrable fortresses, and valiant warriors could not protect them. Everyone must stand God's judgement. We are saved by his grace alone.
