1. Stay faithful to the Lord's message (1-10)
King Zedekiah never paid attention to the word of God. He sent a delegation to ask Jeremiah to pray for them as the Egyptians approached. Jeremiah could have compromised in order to please the king and keep himself from prison. But he did not. He spoke the word clearly to the delegation. The message was consistent, they needed to repent and go into exile for the Babylonians would return. A servant of God must uphold the truth.
2. Stand firm on God's word (11-21)
The Babylonians had temporarily left. Jeremiah wanted to travel outside the city, but he was arrested and accused of desertion. He was brought before the king and was asked to speak God's word. Jeremiah stood firm on the message. The king would be handed over to the enemy. Jeremiah was sent to the courtyard prison. He was faithful.
