1. "Remember, LORD" (1-8)
The immediate national crisis was averted, but Hezekiah was immediately struck with a personal crisis: a terminal illness. Yet Hezekiah was a man of faith (2Ki 18:5). He turned his face to the wall, and cried out to the LORD, who heard his prayer. God immediately answered him, granting 15 more years, affirmed through a sign: the sun moved back in the sky. Our God hears and answers the prayer of faith.
2. "The living praise you" (9-22)
At his young age (about 39), he may not have considered his death. But this event changed that. God's word humbled Hezekiah (15), and by this he became thankful even for his illness! It revealed God's love and forgiveness to him (17). He found the purpose of life is to praise the Lord (18), pass on his faithfulness to his children (19), and dedicate himself to worship God all the days of his life.
