AS A DOG RETURNS TO ITS VOMIT SO IS A FOOL

Date : Jun 15, 2017
Passage : Proverbs 26:1~12
Keyverse : 11

1. Fools (1-3)

There are many proverbs that describe the folly of a fool. A fool curses good men. But his undeserved curse is ineffective. A fool despises the advice of the wise. He only deserves a rod for his back. We were fools who deserved rods but our Lord Jesus received punishment for our folly to save us. (1 Pet 2:24)

2. Wise in his own eyes (4-12)

We must deal wisely with a proud fool, or our effort to help him becomes worse than useless. He is a fool because he does not listen to the rebuke. To trust a fool is like cutting one's feet. A fool repeats his foolishness as a dog returns to its vomit. He is a fool because he is wise in his eyes.

Application: Lord, let me listen to your corrections and repent with a sensitive heart.
One Word: Be wise in God's eyes
