WHERE DOES MY HELP COME FROM?

Date : Jan 01, 2000
Passage : Psalm 121:1~8
Keyverse : 2

1. I lift up my eyes to the hills (1-2)

This is sometimes called the travelers' psalm. As we pilgrims travel toward the heavenly kingdom, we encounter unknown paths and hostile environments. Familiar places and people pass from sight. We cannot put our trust in people or in material things. Our help cannot come from the hills, but the hills remind us of our Creator, the eternal God who made heaven and earth. He is our only source of help.

2. The Lord watches over us (3-8)

The Lord is on 24-hour duty. He does not sleep; he watches over us all the time. No one can be such a shepherd. He knows my weaknesses, and he keeps my foot from slipping. He knows that I travel through a hostile world, so he protects me from the sun by day and the moon by night. My life is in his hand until I reach my final destination--his heavenly kingdom.

Application: Lord, I lift my eyes to the hills. My help comes from you, the Creator of heaven and earth. I will not fear, for you are watching over my comings and goings.
One Word: My help comes from the Lord
