1. Give thanks to the Lord (1-16)
God's people Israel, his servants the priests and those who fear God can say with one voice, 'His love endures forever.' When we cry out to the Lord, he sets us free. The Psalmist had many enemies, but our enemy is Satan. God gives victory over enemies within and without. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in men, for man's love and power are limited and partial, but God's love endures forever. When we are harassed on every side, the Lord is our strength and our salvation.
2. Proclaim what the Lord has done (17-29)
The Lord has made the rejected stone the foundation stone of his house, the capstone of his redemptive history. He has opened the gates of righteousness for those who put their trust in him. Jesus, the Rejected Stone, has become the cornerstone. He was welcomed into Jerusalem by crowds singing God's praise and waving palm branches. He alone saves us from sin and gives us eternal life. Give thanks to the Lord.
Application: Lord, thank you for your redemptive love which endures forever.
One Word: The Lord is good; his love endures
