1. God's love is forever (1-4)

God loved the shepherd boy David. God's love does not change. God is faithful to keep his promises. He kept his covenant with David to establish David's line forever when he sent the savior King Jesus, whose throne is established forever.

2. Power and faithfulness surround him (5-13)

There is no one who can compare with God. His mighty hand crushes and scatters (10). God created the world and all that is in it. He rules with righteousness and justice. He is almighty: He rules the heavens, the seas and the earth; he rules history and all the nations of men. He is fully able to keep his promises.

3. Walk in the light of his Presence (14-18)

Those who have learned to acclaim God and walk in the light of his presence are blessed. They exult in his righteousness. He is our glory and our shield. Prayer: Lord, teach me to live like a child of your covenant and walk in your light.

Application: Lord, teach me to seek you in times of suffering or in loneliness. Darkness is not my closest friend--you are.
