1. Wait patiently for the Lord (1-5)
David found that his time of deepest distress became the time of greatest grace when he waited on God and put his trust in him. In times of trouble, we are tempted to put our trust in some seemingly strong and wise person, but we are blessed if we wait on God and put our trust in him.
2. I desire to do your will (6-10)
When God's word is in our hearts we can discover God's will and do it (8). He does not want us to hide his righteousness and faithfulness in our hearts; he wants us to speak of his salvation to the great assembly of his people.
3. May all who seek you rejoice (11-17)
Many worldly people oppose God and seek to destroy his servants, but all who seek God and love his salvation will rejoice and exalt his name.
Application: Lord, thank you for your great salvation and for the new song you have put in my mouth. Help me to exalt your name.
One Word: Sing a hymn of praise to our God
