First, God is the Almighty Creator (1-9). This psalm was meant to be sung responsively to praise the Almighty, loving God. The Lord God is the Almighty Creator of the heavens and the earth. It is most amazing and wonderful that this Almighty God is full of love and mercy. His love never changes. It endures forever. Second, God is the Almighty Deliverer (10-15). He delivered his people Israel from slavery in Egypt. It was a costly deliverance. It required slaying the firstborn of Egypt, splitting the Red Sea asunder, and obliterating Pharoah's army. He delivered his people because of his great, unchanging love. Third, God keeps his promises (16-26). In love he led his people through the desert and struck down mighty kings to protect them. God saw his people in their low estate and freed them when they were too helpless to do so. We should remember his love and give thanks.
Application: Lord, I praise you, for your love endures forever. Everything you do by your sovereign power is done in love. Praise God who remembers us in our low estate.
One Word: Give thanks to the Lord Almighty
