1. The tree of life (1-6)

The tree of life was in the Garden of Eden in Genesis. Access to it was lost when men sinned and were cast out of paradise. But we find it again in the new Jerusalem. Life is a pilgrimage back to the tree of life; it is a journey from the lost Garden to the new City. The tree of life is for the healing of nations. All whose robes are washed in the blood of the Lamb may enter and eat its fruit, and quench their thirst at the river of life.

2. Jesus is coming again (7-21)

Jesus is coming soon. He comes as Judge and Rewarder. There are only two kinds of people: First, those who have repented and been forgiven by the blood of Jesus; second, those who continue in the practices that God hates. Those who hear his invitation and come to him for forgiveness have their names written in the book of life. They will welcome Jesus at his coming. All others will be cast into the lake of fire.
